Hello. How do I add another data label in the middle of a column that shows % over prior column?

Hi Ammartin,

To add the data label for %age you can follow these steps:- When you will click on chart then 2 contextual tabs will get appear, then click on Design tab, go to in the Chart layout's group, click on "Add Chart Element", where you will see the "Data Label" option when you will click on "Data Label option" then you will get drop down, from the drop down list just select "More Data Label Options". You will get a Format Data Label's dialog box where you need to click on Label options, then click on Value from cells and click on select range, whatever you will select from there you will get that as data label.

@Nisha, your suggest will only working in xl2013, which the OP does not have according to their profile.

You can still link a data label to a cell but you will either have to do it manually

Also I have set the base line of the chart to zero, which is how column/bar charts should be displayed.

@Andy. That works fine, but how do I have two data labels. The volume at the top and the percentage in the middle. Thanks.

Add another series and use it's data labels.
Format columns to overlap 100% and format top series to have no fill
