Hello. I have a vlookup formula that should return an error because there is no match, but it is returning a value, which makes no sense. Might it have something to do with text? That wouldn't explain it either, I don't think.

would you post the actual formula
are you using TRUE (or blank) or FALSE at the end of the formula - TRUE always returns a result - the nearest value FALSE looks for an exact value
=Vlookup(criteria, range, column to return, TRUE or FALSE)
