Is there a way to forward type in excel

I'm not sure if I have the right terminolgy for this but what I am asking is there a way to complete a cell or offer suggestions from a list words as the user starts to type

for example as the user types LO it brings up LONDON from the city list ?

in general... not the way i think you are wanting it to work...i assume you want it like google search AutoComplete/Autosuggest

you can do autocorrect...add LO replaces with LONDON....however this isnt the drop down from list
and it is very time consuming to create and maintain

With data validation it is plausible
you type in first (few) letter the DV changes to only with these letters

however.....there is quite a lot of background work to set it up

There's an add-in at https://app.box.com/shared/ono8ni9xvr, a read-me at https://app.box.com/shared/4qxybepxxr, and an example workbook at https://app.box.com/shared/e8dbbple34 to do this.

Neil Firth has a You Tube video for a searchable dropdown list usng formulas. Here is the link. I have used it many times and like it a lot.
