Copy/Paste Special/Transpose should do this for you. if you run into problems, attach an Excel sheet.

select and copy the data then
select any cell out of the selection >
press shift+F10 >
Select Paste Special then
select transpose which is right side bottom
then click OK

Thanks - it works with copy and paste but not cut and paste, any ideas how to make it work with cut and paste?
I'm fairly certain that you can't get it to work with CUT. having said that, in two minutes someone else will prove me wrong.
There are also formula based approaces, but we'd need to see some sample data.
BtW, that's wrong with copy/paste special followed by deleting the original data??
