    Recognizing Data using V-Lookup

I used the following formula: =RIGHT(B2,LEN(B2)-SEARCH(" ",B2,1)) to put data in a column. I then used a V-Look up of that data to pull back related data from another sheet. I get the #NA Error. I even converted the Look-up data to text instead of the formula but it didn't help. If I type the data in vs. using the look-up, it works fine, but it takes more time, and defeats the purpose of the look up.

    Re: Recognizing Data using V-Lookup

    Just guess:

    Assuming C2=RIGHT(B2,LEN(B2)-SEARCH(" ",B2,1))

    =VLOOKUP(TRIM(C2),.....)

    or

    =VLOOKUP(--C2,......)

If it does not work, try to upload a small sample spreadsheet.
