    Highlight cells based on time for a particular day

    here is the sample of data where i need to highlight cells if the total time taken for a particular day crosses 8 hours.

    Cell Date User-Id Activity Time(hours)

    A2 5/4/2015 X Developement 5

    A3 5/5/2015 X Testing 3

    A4 5/5/2015 X TEsting 6

    A5 5/6/2015 y Development 8

    Date cell format=mm-dd-yy
    User iD Format=text
    Activity format=text
    Time(hours)=numbers
    .I want to highlight the cells if time(in hours) for a particular day crossess 8 hours.Say suppose in above data,
    Day 5/5/2015 has activities where it crosses 8 hours. I want to highlight the cells A3 and A4.across different cells in the same sheet.
    Can anyone please help me regarding this?

    in the attachment tasks falling under 5-march-2015 are logged more than 8 hours.i want to highlight those cells

    Thanks.it helped me to certain extent.
    But in case if the previous cell(previous day) has 8 hours work and the current day(current cell) has 9 hours work.Then this formula will highlight both the cells.I need to highlight the cell(day) with 9 hours of work

    I tried a lot but can not achieve the same result with the formulas...

    I also want to see the same .....but not possible....coz your data is also not sorted and excel array can not store the values 1-1, it will always take the whole range.
