Network XLSTART and Template locations?

Every few months I find myself having to update either our Template Files and/or the our Addin (macro) files to my staff. currently, I have to have each of them update their personal templates folder and XLStart folder in order to use the updates.

However, in our IT "makeover" a few months ago, everyone in our company now actually connects to a Virtual Machine for work. Their physical laptop or PC is just a 'dump' terminal.

So since all the VM's are all connected to our network with a shared folder access at all times, is it possible to add an XLStart folder location to a network location?

We are using Office 2013 and I tried adding a Trusted Location, but that isn't quite right. I may need to possible get some IT help or possible add via registry tweak?

It's been few days, thus a small bump as I look at this again here today. Does anyone know if/how you can add additional XLStart locations?
