Monitor and manage game stats

I am going to preface this question with the statement that I am a nerd that likes the occasional video game. Clash of Clans is one such game.

I have been asked to track some stats for my "clan." The attached workbook is a representation of some of what I want to do, but I am not sure what the best way would be to:
1. make it more efficient/easier to use and enter data,
2. track 2 different sets of data per "player" each time we have our "war"
3. display the data, especially text based data, in a format that will be easy to read.

If you aren't familiar with the game, here are a few things you need to know. Players join together in "clans" and have the option to participate or not participate in "wars" and can change their preference to participate or not at any time. In wars, the clan is matched with another clan and each player has 2 opportunities to attack the enemy clan. Each war, players are ranked in order based on a number of factors, but boiling down to how good their "base" is. Your rank can change every war as others upgrade their base and members are added or leave the clan. Every attack has 4 levels of success, measured 0-3 stars, 0 being a poor attack and 3 being a perfect attack.

I have listed the data I want to track in the column headings on the "input" sheet, but I am not sure how I can track 2 attacks separately.

Another important piece of data I need to track is if the player was MIA. If they chose to be in war by "opting in" but they failed to use their attacks or only used one of their two, I want to be able to track that. I do not want to track MIA's for players that "opted out."

The data I have to work from comes in chronological order. We usually have 25 players participate, so 50 potential attacks, and I get the data in the order that they used their attacks.

I know that this may seem kind of silly to some people (just remember that they track stats in baseball too, although you may think that is silly as well), but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

The problem I have has several facets, styling, formulas, questions about how to do something that I am not sure can even be done, etcetera. That is too long to fit in the title of the post.

Please just delete this post and I will try to figure it out on my own. I don't want to continue violating the rules when I am not sure how I could avoid it.

Re: Clash of Clans War Stats

No need to do that Lets start with a step at a time, if needs be, you can post multiple threads on this, or, seeing as it's really all related, as a question at a time.

I know that this may seem kind of silly to some people (just remember that they track stats in baseball too, although you may think that is silly as well), but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not at all. The purpose is often of little meaning (although it helps to have an over-view of where you are headed), its the mechanics that that can be challenging and fun to create

Now, what would you want to start with 1st?
In the mean time, I am going to change your title for you to something a tad more desriptive
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Monitor and manage game stats

Thanks! So the most important thing to me is how I can track whether or not someone shows up for both attacks. What I am using now has a sheet for each player with a row representing one war and 2 sets of stats on each row, one for the first attack and one for the second. My formula checks to see if there is data in those cells and assumes that if there is no data that that constitutes an MIA.

If I just had an input sheet where I entered every attack by every player, I don't know if I can check to see if there are two data entries corresponding to each player in each war.

Even harder is trying to figure out if the player didn't use either attack.

It is hard to explain, let me know if that isn't clear.

If you would like, I can attach what we are using now. It is clunky, and data entry is a pain.
