invoke sorting using custom sort list

I'm not sure if this will require use of functions or VBA code, but I'm looking to be able to sort my table using custom sort list I create by selecting a cell from a drop down list.
Image below illustrates what I'm looking to do.

I would really appreciate any tips.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Forum.

Can you please post a sample template in excel format rather than image?

I'm not sure if posting the excel will clarify it better, but here it is.

To be honest, you're right - it doesn't help much. But.. people here are more than happy spending time to help you, but very few want to re-type what you've already done!!

Can you explain a bit more about the rules that you want to apply when different vendors are selected?

Re: invoke sorting using custom sort list

What I'm looking to do is to be able to sort my table in different ways based on the Vendor I select.
So if I select Vendor 1 from the drop down, the table will be automatically sorted using a custom sort list I create.
Then if I select Vendor 2, then the table gets sorted by a different custom sort list I create.

Basically I have list of items in inventory, but the order of the items is different on each vendor. I'm looking for a quick way to automatically sort the items depending on which vendor I choose.
Hopefully I was able to explain it better.

Select the Vendor from column A's list, then click on the heading arrow for what you want to sort by. Custom sorts are not part of the Auto Filter. If you want some other sort selectable by drop down, VBA will likely have to be used.

You're right. I believe I figured it out and it did require some VBA code.
What I did was I recorded macros that does the custom sort, then created a drop down using Data Validation. I then used Select Case to have each cell from the drop down run the macros I recorded.
    Here's the excel file
