Paste horizontal text from outside application to vertical text Excel 2010 (transpose)

    Hello all,
I am attempting to paste a string of horizontal text vertically into Excel 2010. I have tried several things.
When I simply paste it is horizontal text. When I paste special to try and transpose , that option does not appear.
When I ctrl+c the horizontal text I pasted and then I do get the transpose option, it does not change the text to vertical.
    Please help.

    Thanks

    Hi Sean,

If your string is in one cell then all you need to do is to Format cells, Alignment and change Orientation 90 degrees (+/-).

AlKey, The string is a string of numbers. And when I rotate 90 degrees the text is sideways and unreadable.

Maybe you not clearly explaining your problem.

Please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

    AlKey,
I cannot upload that at the moment. However, let me explain further and in more detail.
I am copying and pasting from a PDF document into excel.
The string is vertical in PDF but pastes horizontal in Excel.
    I need it vertical.
I have tried to transpose after pasting but it just stays horizontal.
I cannot transpose before pasting as that option does not appear.
