I'd like to use a worksheet like a piece of graph paper. Is there any simple
way to set the column width and the row height to form perfect squares in a
worksheet?

Highlight the entire spreadsheet by clicking between A and 1 in the axes.
On the X-axis, right click and set the Column Width
On the Y-Axis, right click and set the Row Width.
please note that the height and width are measured in different units. when you place your cursor between the columns or rows, it will tell you how wide / tall it is, and it will give you the measurement and the pixels. then just to a bit of multiplication and division.
if anyone knows of a shorter way to do that, then cool.

MS Office Excel Template for graph paper........

If you want to "roll your own".......
Assuming 96 pixels per inch you could approximate but at different resolutions
your approximation can be off.
If you want to use VBA to set height and width in mm which you then convert to
inches at 25.4 mm per inch..........
Ole Erlandson has code for setting row and column dimensions.

people, this thread is 5 years old. I doubt the OP will return to check.
This is an old thread, but came up when I searched the topic.
I am trying to create a grid that equals 129" by 228" and if possible, I would like for it to fit on one page.
IS THERE A FORMULA for creating column width by row height that would be square, so that they would be exactly square. I need a FORMULA so that I can play with my grid to make it fit one page.
Thanks
There is no FORMULA that can change row height or column width.
