Ruler is still grayed out/not available even though workbook is unlocked

    Hello,

This is my first post and I'm about to start losing my hair over what I would think is a super simple problem.

I use Microsoft 2004 for Mac. I purchased a formatted excel spreadsheet. I was able to unlock it to modify what I needed. However, the ruler is not showing up, so I cannot adjust the size of cells, so the text is overrunning and it looks terrible. It is grayed out and I am unable to select. I added a spreadsheet to the workbook, and the ruler shows up on that.

Why isn't this ruler showing up on the other spreadsheets? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I am not sure if what I say is correct, but I think it is possible that it's hidden based on macros.
If you can open macro's... try to look for: .DisplayHeadings = False

Thank you for your response! However, you're going to have to dumb that down a bit for me - I am by no means an excel expert. I'm not sure what macros are or how I'd make that adjustment.
