Sorting and filtering a protected worksheet

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone as a solution for this one. I have excel 2007 and a worksheet where I have two columns unlocked, and the rest of the columns are locked, and protected. What I need is a way to easily sort & filter the locked columns. Can anyone help?

    Thanks
    Dave

Only if "Sort" and "Use autofilter" were specifically allowed by whoever protected the sheet.

Hi Glenn I was the one who protected the sheet and I selected Sort and Use Autofilter and it didn't work. it allows me to ctrl-f and find items but not sort or filter.

Can you post your sheet? If not, can you mock up a small sample to test?

Take a look at this... at least it provides an explanation and possibly lets you find a way forward.
