Cannot pull the extra decimal place (appears as 2.2 instead of 2.20).

    Hi,

I'm exporting a list of customers in excel and I'm linking a field to pull across their balances.

Some customers have £1.21 for example whereas a number have £2.20 / £6.50. Any that end in .10, .20, .30, .40 it isn't pulling in the additional zero (everything is appearing as £2.1 or £5.6 for example).

I've attached a screenshot of the amounts - in the area next to 'fx', how can I make it so that includes the extra decimal place as I have a feeling this is linked.

    Thanks

Have you tried formatting with two decimal places?

    Perhaps

    =TEXT(A1,"0.00")

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

If you format as CURRENCY the decimals should be retained and will have the currency symbol. You can also format as NUMBER with 2 decimal places.

I've tried all data types (text, general, currency).

The email platform I'm using to send the emails doesn't appear to want to pull the additional decimal place for zero amounts

One thing I would make sure you note about Special-K's solution -- It converts a number to a text string, and the resulting text string only retains 2 decimal places of precision, if converted back to a number. For many purposes, this is not a problem. However, we have many other questions that show up on the forum of people having trouble with numbers stored as text strings. As long as you are aware of the situation and the potential problems it can create, then you can otherwise ignore this post.
