    My favorite Date Format

    My favorite date format is March 30, 2015

    When I click upon date format, I have to dig deeper to find that format. Is there an easier way?

    Hello Queenofmycastle,

    Welcome to the Forum.

    jonesa01 is correct, Right click on the Cell, > Format Cells> Custom, and enter mmmm dd, yyyy in the box just below "Type".

    And you are good to go!

    Thank you so much! I was hoping for a way to change the standard formats on the dropdown.

    Re: My favorite Date Format

    Create a Shortcut.

    Copy and past the below VBA:

    Sub DateFormat()
    '
    ' DateFormat Macro
    '
    ' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+A
    '
    Selection.NumberFormat = "[$-409]mmmm d, yyyy;@"
    End Sub

    Note: Keyboard shortcut is up to you

    Now you can enter date in any cell/cells and run macro to get the new format.
