Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen
I work for a company in Central London, That supplies Air Handling Unit filters to the facilities management sector.
At the moment to calculate the price of a Filter we have to follow a quite lengthy procedure to calculate the price, which goes a little something like this.
Work out what kind of filter, the customer is looking for.
Click the hyperlink for that particular type of filter, this then directs us to the part of our matrix that is used to price up that particular filter.
We then have to determine whether the dimensions the customer has provided us with, will fit into a standard stock size, in which case its a "insert name here" standard price.
If it doesn't match a filter that is a stock item, we then move along to the next column which shows us the Max dimensions we can order a "custom" pleated panel from.
If it is less than row B but more than row A we would use the price bracket in row B.
As I am sure you can appreciate, this leaves allot of room fro human error, especially as there are 2 of us that price up how much these will cost.
What I want to do, is in a separate sheet, have a data entry form that allows us to select from a drop down box, the type of panel, the effiency, and then the depth, from there I would like to be able to input the customers dimensions, and click a search button.
I would like excel to then calculate which price bracket would match, that particular filter enquiry, and feed that entry onto the home screen. (so that I can keep the raw data separate so nobody can tamper with it.)
Is this even possible?
Alex
