    Date Entry

My system date format is yyyy-MM-dd (2015-07-11).

In excel, I want to be able to enter a date as d-m-yy (11-7-15).
    BUT
    If I enter 11/7, I get 2015-11-07.
    if I enter 11/7/15, I get 2011-07-15

How do I go about it without changing my system date format?

win xp sp2 , office xp.

    thx

    Re: Date Entry

Suppose you want to enter Date in Column B the you can change the format of B Column as Date and then select Type of your desire or you can choose Text then what you enter on B col show as it is.

    Re: Date Entry

Just change the format of your cell(s) to d-mm-yy.
Right click the cell(s) ( or entire sheet) - Format Cells - General tab click " custom" - enter desired format in the input box. Ok

    Re: Date Entry

why don't you want to change the format of the date

cause changing the format for the cell the dates are on is the easiest option

select the cells right click and click format cells

from the menu on the righ selesct date and then pick the format you want for those cells
