My apologies if this thread is either in the wrong space or has (doubtlessly) been answered before. I searched google for an hour before posting here, and I don’t think I am phrasing myself correctly in that search.
I am trying to use Excel rather than manufacturing a table in WORD to make a chart wherein I measure the start and stop times of an occurrence during a single event. Specifically, I am trying to list when a scene starts and stops in a film (long story – theater project). So I have four columns listing scene number, start, stop, and description – IE
Scene 01, 00:00, 04:25, Bob enters room
Scene 02, 04:26, 09:12, Bob kills Santa Claus
And so on. However, no matter what format I try (or create according to suggested web search results), all I get is formatted DATES. This is a 110 minute film with 23 scenes, and all I want is a chart showing when each scene stops and starts. I don’t want to calculate a range or do a sum, just LIST things. I’ve tried [mm]:ss and so forth as directed, and it just defaults to dates. I really don’t want to build a table in WORD – that fails like failing and giving up. SURELY it is possible to do this simple-sounding task in Excel, right? Anybody?
