Lets say I want to refer to a cell that is within a filter. I want it to ALWAYS refer to that cell no matter where it goes once it's filtered. For example, in the sheet provided, I want it to ALWAYS say red = red whether you filter the table or not. Can someone please tell me how I do this?
I think you mean sorted and not filtered. If you filter the list to show anything, the references don't move, they just may not be visible anymore.
In the case of sorting, there is no way to reference the cell using the cell address, becaue the sort will move the cell address. You could find the value again by using a lookup type of formula:

Yeah, what I need is really simple, I think I'll just live with going through and re-referencing the cells once it's sorted, haha.
