Hi there,
I have a load of names alongside the corresponding initials on a spreadsheet but I want to hide the names.
I was wondering if I could hide the names but have the full name in the comment of the adjacent initial cell so if I hover over the initial it shows the full name.
Does that make any sense?!
I have attached an example sheet and have manually entered the comments for the 3 cells in yellow to show you what I'm after.

thank you very much cyiangou. That does work. Is there any way it can be live so if the name changes so does the comment or if the name is deleted the comment is deleted too?
You'll need to configure this as you want it. It currently simply checks that row 1 of the column being edited has a header that begins with "Comment". You can change this and/or do other validation checks.

Oh yeah, that looks perfect thank you, except I can't see how to extend it for the rest of the column? Is there an easy way to get it down to row 150 for example?
It should work anywhere, as long as you're not in column A, and as long as the column that you're editing has a header in row 1 that begins with "Comment".
