"Please enter a date in the format dd/mm/yyyy" error

    Hi all folks,

    I'm new here.
I have a problem with a file, there are some fields formatted as "general", but when trying to enter a value I got the message error "Please enter a date in the format dd/mm/yyyy". I've tried to change format type and reset again, but nothing.

Any idea what could it be?
If any other info needed let me know

The sheet is protected but the field I'm talking about are not.

    thank you in advance!
    Mattia

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

I agree with Special K, select the cell and check "Data Validation" (on the Data Tab). The spreadsheet designer set up criteria on those cells.
