    formula only works when saved

I have a spreadsheet that used to work fine, formulas would act properly and add/subtract/etc upon hitting enter. Suddenly when I enter data the formula does not compute when I hit the enter key - but it does compute when I hit the save icon, or close the file/save and re-open. I've been using Excel for quite some time and this is a new one on me. Is there a menu item that toggles formulas on & off in this way? Thanks

Thanks Martin - I did not know that calculation tab was buried in that options menu. Awesome!

    thanks again

Yes, that was it. I have no idea how it changed, but there are others who use this spreadsheet so someone may have been poking around where they shouldn't have been. I guess it's time to enable protection!
