Comments jumping around

Hi All,

I am using Excel 2010, and all the time inserted comments jump around, any idea what causes this or how to stop it!!?!?!

Hi,

> Right Click on the cell
> Edit Comment
> Select the comment
> On the Format Comment window goto Properties Tab
> Select "Don't move or resize with cells" option
> Ok

thats great thanks, but is there some way to do it to all comments in a workbook in one go?

I am not sure you can do it at once! I guess you need to change one at a time.

Note that this code sets the middle option. If you want "Don't move or size with cells" then change xlMove in the code to xlFreeFloating
I can't understand why the default setting is "Move and size with cells", it should have been "Move but don't size with cells".
As usual testing has been minimal .

Yes that is the difference and that was the intention with first code as well, I just forgot to replace the ActiveSheet with ws.
When I tested I only ran it on one sheet and it seemed to work.
Use the second code and forget about the first.
