general excel issue

I am using excel 2007 version. It takes hours to update. for example, I have a formula in cell "A1" and need to copy and paste the formula all the way down to row #136990. It takes hours and hours. It just won't work.

Then I click on th formula tab to change the "automatic calculating " to manual calculating", but it does not help much.

What's the best way to do if you have over 100K rows to update.

What is the formula you are using? You could try VBA instead of a formula.
