I can't pinpoint the timing of my issue. I just got the windows 10 upgrade on a machine I've had for a few weeks using office 2010.
I have a few everyday files pinned to my taskbar and they all open in separate windows and the ability to view them side by side isn't available. However if I open them using file > open and then navigate to the file location I'm able to go to a side by side view with as many workbooks as I want if I open them using this method. This kind of defeats the point of having them pinned for easy access though.
Maybe this example helps:
- I open 3 files that I have pinned to my taskbar.
- I can take one of those workbooks and go to file > open and then open another notebook.
- By doing this in the same window I can use the control+tab and flip between these 2 workbooks, but I cannot with the other 2 workbooks I opened via the pinned taskbar.
I've tried googling and to no avail. I'm not sure if I need them opened in the same window and excel is by default opening each workbook in its own separate window? Any help is appreciated.
