Sharing a workbook with formulas linked to another workbook

I shared a workbook with Sumif formulas linked to another workbook but the person was not able to see the values, instead all the cells displayed the #value error. I had to cut and paste values and formatting in order to share. Is there's a way to be able to share without having to recreate another workbook?

Hi, welcome to the forum

The only way they will be able to use those formulas is if they can see the other WB as well
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Use the SUMPRODUCT function. It works when referencing a closed file while SUMIF does not.

Just about any SUMIF formula can be converted to SUMPRODUCT.

All the formulas that are returning the #VALUE! error.

SUMIF won't work when referencing a closed file.

If you can't figure out how to convert the SUMIF formulas just post them and we'll help you.
