Hi again,
Im trying to make a spreadsheet to calculate golf stats for me and friends.
my sheet has 4 tabs
"Instructions" for when i give it to friends.
"Introduction" where you add your name golf course name and par per golf hole (which gets duplicated on the yellow tee scorecard thread in cells B1:S1
"yellow tee's scorecard" where the goal is for me to able to input my score on each hole in cells B3:S3 and each row below that.
and then how many putts i have taken per hole in cells V3:AM3 and each row below also.
From this im hoping to place a formula in cells AN3:BE3 and each row below to work out my Greens in Regulation (G.I.R)
the formula in cells AN3:BE3 and below is the one giving me the problem.
For any non golfers out there, a G.I.R means:
on any par 3 hole you are given 1 shot to get to the green.
on any par 4 hole you are given 2 shots to get to the green.
and on any par 5 you are given 3 shots to get to the green.
so by inputing my hole score and amount of putts taken im trying to arrange a formula that works out if i achieved this or not.
im having a problem with the formula currently entered as it is possible on certain golf courses on certain holes to reach a par 5 green in say 2 shots so i want my formula to incorporate this.
currently i have the formula =IF(B3-V3=$B$1-2,"1","0") in cell AN3 and this has been copied across the others cells using the dragging function at the bottom left of the cell (sorry i dont know what this is called)
Cell AR6 is a perfect example of what i mean by this, as if we look at cell F6 where i have inputed a 3 and cell Z6 inputed 2 this means i have made G.I.R on that hole, im aware what im telling the formula to look for is a 2, but i cant seem to figure out how to get it to ask for a number equal to 2 or less, if that makes sense.
i appreciate any help anyone can offer on this, and appologies in advance if its not explained particulary well, i have attached an example worksheet to use as reference.
Many thanks
