Undo/Redo by spreadsheet instead of globally.

Is undo and redo a global command or can it be somehow limited to a single workbook.

If I have several workbooks open and I start redoing and undoing, it doesn't stay with the workbook I am working in, it goes to whatever last command excel entered regardless of workbook.

How can I force undo/redo to focus on only the selected workbook?

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!

Everything is possible in Excel, for the most part, some solutions simply require tons of time and VBA coding to accomplish. So the answers to your questions are:

    1) No, you cannot control the Excel UNDO stack, it does what it does.

    2) You can create your own UNDO stack and controls on a workbook by workbook basis, limited only by your budget. This is not a trivial endeavor, IMO.

    Yeah, that is okay then.

Option 2 would be more effort than benefit in this case.

And I assume you meant to say "You cannot control the Excel UNDO stack..." =)

    Thank you for your response.

    Rep given, topic marked solved.

For some reason it didn't take the first time. It should now be marked solved.
