i want to give same name(defining the cell) for more than 1 cells means I want to give name 'A' for cells C2,F23,D32,N8,H10...How can I do this?????

I want to show that these all cells are included under same criteria 'A'.I cant use colors in cells thats why I used to name these cells by same name.

as u can see in the attachment there are yellow coloured cells present in sheet 1 and sheet 2 also.I want to define them by same name 'A' and want to use this formula. =sum(A) which will give me total sum of cells which has name A..is this possible??
if possible then give me the method to name the cells.

dear davesexcel,
i want a simple modification in the answer.i want the output of sum on sheet no.3..n also remind one thing that you should add values of sheet 1 and sheet2 combinely..and when I will give formula =sum(A) it must show the addition of total values including sheet 1&2 both of same defined name 'A '...
