Counting words

Hi.

I know this is a simple question.

I have a list of names in col D (ie staff names assigned to a task).

In col H is have all the possible names (ie staff names)

In col I next to the names in Col H I want excel to **** how many times the name in col H appears in my task list of col D so I can keep track of how many tasks each person has.

Anyhow know the formula.

I had it on and old spreadsheet, but has since lost it.

it will be a countif function. If your data starts in row 2 and say goes to 100, the first one will be
