Post Finding data from another sheet- maybe using VLOOKUP?

    Hello,

I am new to MS Excel and I have small question. On Sheet 1, I have the following data (in column order):

Response No Table No Survey Date Constitueny Names (AC Mandal Names Village Names
(I have data) (I have data) (I have data) Need to find Need to find Need to find

On Sheet 2, I have the following data (column order):

Constitueny Names (AC) Mandal Names Village Names Table No. Survey Start Date Survey End Date
(I have data) (I have data) (I have data) (I have data) (I have data) (I have data)

    ISSUE:

I need to use an excel formula to find the missing information in Sheet 1:

Constitueny Names (AC) (Need to find)

    Mandal Names (Need to find)

    Village Names (Need to find)

The information is in Sheet 2. I have tried to use the VOOKUP formula:=VLOOKUP(B1,Sheet2!A2:F2225,1,FALSE)

This formula is producing an error. Can anyone help with this? - print screen included.

    Thank you in advance,

Thanks for the reply. I have inserted the excel file. I have tried this formula: =vlookup(b2, sheet2!$a$2:$d$999, 2, false)

It still producing an error. Help!

Re: Finding data from another sheet- maybe using VLOOKUP?

    Hi,

Would you manually add some typical results and explain how you arrived at the result. For instance the first data row you require on sheet 1 has a tab no 35. There are 4 rows for tab 35 on sheet 2. Which of the 4 rows should be picked up for the result - and why. Is it row 1365 since it's the only start date prior to the survey date one sheet 2?

And if so what if there were two or more sheet 2 records which fit the criteria that the sheet 2 date is between the Start & End dates?
