updating a particular value based on the date

Hi:

I have an excel sheet where I maintain the daily targets of some individuals say about 15 or 20. The first row goes for the headers. The column A contains the date starting from A3. The second row from B2 contains the names of the individuals. Each individual enters his daily target against his/her name in the cell according to the current date.

What I am looking for is a formula which can display the highest individual score along with the name for the current date in a cell and the value should be getting updated automatically for the current day. I mean this formula should show the current dates highest individual score.
