    IF Formula and VLOOKUP

    Hi everyone,
I am currently in a computer fundamentals class. I have been working on this project for more than a 3 weeks now. I will be attaching it. Can someone please help me complete the steps after #6? I have attached a copy of the assignment as well as the book page where the assignment is. I am having a hard time understanding the instructions. Can someone please complete the steps 6 though 10. I am pulling my hairs out here! Please help! I have already paid the 20 for extra help but it is not working. I uploaded the picture properly and it keeps rotating.

Re: I posted this and no one was able to answer it effectively.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.

Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change a Title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

(This thread should receive no further responses until this moderation request is fulfilled, as per Forum Rule 7)

I do hate the way people post photos and cant be bothered to rotate it to a legible angle.
Makes me want to put as much effort in solving it as they did making it presentable.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Re: I posted this and no one was able to answer it effectively.

I had three posts in which I asked politely and gave many details. I got many responses with many exclamation points!!!!!!!!! Just like that. I have been asking this question for a while now and no one is really helping me. I asked politely. Where in my post am I being disrespectful? I am overwhelmed!

    Re: IF Formula and VLOOKUP

Attach the workbook that you are using. Please include the instructions within the workbook properly oriented so that they can be read easily. I suggest that you do the best that you can in following the instructions and then show where you are having difficulty. There is no value to you for us to do the course problem for you. We can however show you where you have gone wrong and point you in the direction to take.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Re: IF Formula and VLOOKUP

    Answer.xlsx

As attached, I've used a different ID because the other one isn't in the table.

I'd recommend looking at what I've done, and going back through the questions.

There is value in someone actually showing you how to do these things, that's how I learned.

    Cheers,

Attachment 427466 Question 17 says to to insert a formula to calculate the number of working days in between dates. I entered =NETWORKDAYS(C16,I4:K7)But its saying VALUE! the instruction says to use the date from table i4:k7. This project will be death of me.

    Re: IF Formula and VLOOKUP

    <> means not equal to.

#17 says to use VLOOKUP using the value in C16. The syntax of VLOOKUP is =VLOOKUP(LOOKUP VALUE, TABLE ARRAY, COLUMN INDEX NUMBER, MATCH TYPE)

You know that you want to use the value in C16 as the LOOKUP VALUE. You were told what the TABLE ARRAY is. (data range I4:J7). You were also told what column to retrieve the value from (COLUMN INDEX NUMBER). The MATCH TYPE is either TRUE or FALSE. TRUE is for the closest match to the LOOKUP VALUE but the values being looked up in the table must be in ascending order and FALSE means that the match is EXACT. TRUE can be replaced by any number other than 0 or omitted entirely. FALSE can be replaced by 0 in the formula.

The NETWORK days formula needs 2 individual dates, a start date and an end date.

What you have there is a start date and then a range, which means that excel cannot understand what the end date is.

If you have some holidays to factor into your working days, then your syntax is NETWORKDAYS(STARTDATE,ENDDATE,RANGEOFHOLIDAYS)

    Hope this helps.
