Hyperlinks have become mixed up after sorting

    Hi All,
A few years ago I set up a database for tracking and controlling equipment from last use all the way through to the original purchase order (hyperlink). A few months ago I decided to sort the database alphabetically when not filtered, rather than the order the items were entered. Since then I have entered a few hundred more items. Today I noticed the hyperlinks are totally screwed up, its as if it has sorted all the columns apart from the column containing the hyperlinks . So my question is- does anybody know how to resolve this? Is there away way to revert the data back to the order it was entered in the hope it would correct the hyperlinks? I have 3000+ items, I really don't want to have to go through and correct each one.
Thanks in advance for your help.

only way to restore them is to go to a backup

I don't think the sort problem is anything to do with hyperlinks, but there are a couple of quirks in the sort function

If sorting using the filter buttons it will only sort the columns with filter buttons above them (is your hyperlink column added after the rest?)

When setting up a filter it will only work down to the first blank line

    Thanks Graham,
Yes my hyperlink column has a filter tab. I do have an backup from before it went **** up, the problem is I've entered 100's of items since, as well as adding more data to existing items. Im pretty sure the cause was from sorting A-Z in the first column as it was working for over a year before with no problems. Ive started to change the hyperlinks back but now I'm finding that when I try to cut and paste links back in they revert back to incorrect link!!!

Yes hyperlinks do not cut and paste very well, you can "drag" them though, then they still work
If you would like to add the original spreadsheet to the reply I will have a look
