Question Hide zero on zebra striped table when resulting from ref to another table

    Hello there,

In the below screenshot to "get rid of zero" I know I could use something along the lines of "=if(Trades[@Short]"","",Trades[@Short])" .. that's the most eloquent way I could think of but open to suggestion for something cleaner..

    However my real question is:
I would like to *hide* (not get rid of) zero on a zebra stripped table. Without the zebra stripes I imagine I could simply use conditional formatting. With Zebra stripes however I don't know how to do this - does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks again in advance,
    Michelle

    Hello Michelle
You can Custom Format the cells with:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

that should hide any zero values.

Super thanks DBY. I would have never guessed at that!

I did a bit of googling around, for anyone else also wanting to learn about custom formats I found quite a useful page:

    http://www.mbaexcel.com/excel/how-to...er-formatting/
Please keep in mind that this is different than conditional formatting which, while allowing you to change the font, font size, text color, and highlighting, does not allow you to change the actual data that appears. People who don’t understand custom number formatting will often go through the process of changing their data values rather than just the presentation of those values.

And while I'm at it here's an example which really helped me out to deal with my negative LOSS numbers:
