Cup Draw

I have 120+ names in a hat and want to draw them out sort of like and FA cup draw how would I go about it I am complete novice at excel

Hi,

Excel can't actually dip its hand into your hat but maybe this approach.

List your numbers 1-120 in A1:A120
In B1:B120 enter the function =RAND()

Now select A1:B120 and use Data Sort with column B as the sort key. Column A will then contain your 120 numbers in a random order so pair A1 with A2, A3 with A4 A5 with A6 etc..

way over my head lol I have made a simple sheet up to show you what I mean so what I am looking for is how to get the data from the names into the round 1 draw and so on.then I will input the names into the next round and make the draw again and so on until we have only two left

OK I have worked out how to get a random name from a list but I still have two problems
1st is every now and then I get a #REF! in one or two cells and don't know why
2nd is how do I stop it doubling up on names from the list have updated my sheet just hit F9 to random pick a name
