I have a file created through Excel 2013, on a laptop, with a screen size of 15.6 inches, and it has Freeze Panes. Will the format translate the same onto older versions of excel and on other sizes screens?
Recap:
15.6 inches
Freeze Panes
100% zoom

Freeze Panes has been around for many versions of Excel. There should be no problem with that aspect of the file. Any new functions not available in the older versions will not work. If you are not using new functions, then no problem unless you are wanting to open xlsx files on versions that supported only xls format (with Excel 2007 this changed to xlsx format).

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Now, I have Macros and Goal Seek functions on the file. Which versions do not support those functions, and which versions, besides Excel 2013, supports those functions?
Goal Seek is in Excel 2010 but I'm not sure about Excel 2007 and earlier as I couldn't find a reference as to when it was introduced. VBA started in version 5 of Excel.
Will your macros run in all versions, I don't know. Perhaps someone who has been using VBA for a long time has the answer to that. I do know that macros written for 32 bit Excel may not function in 64 bit Excel without addition of code to the beginning of the macro to identify 32 bit or 64 bit. Like worksheet functions, new VBA functions (if there are any) will not be compatible with versions that don't have those VBA functions.
