Drag or cut leaves unwanted cell border

    Work shedule example.xlsx
I have a work schedule where each worker is allocated 5 rows. A column is a day so this leaves me with 5 cells per worker per day. I have a border around each group of 5 cells but no borders in between.
I will enter tasks into each cell but will often have to move tasks to another day or worker as required. To do this I will either drag the cell contents or cut and paste.
This always leaves a cell border behind from where I have moved the cell contents, I then have to clear the borders then re instate the border to the 5 cells.

Is there any way of preventing this from happening every time I want to move the contents of one cell to another?
I can copy and paste then delete the contents of the original cell but this seems clunky!

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

Please post the file for better understanding.

Actually it is not clear what does it mean " but no borders in between".

If the columns for days are adjacent then there should be no gap in between columns and this problem will not arise at all.

Use Paste Special (Formulas / Values) from the tooltip menu (that dropdown menu on rightclick) to explicitly exclude formatting from getting pasted.

I have posted the file for clarity.
What I mean is there are no borders around the individual cells, just an overall border around the 5 cells.

This doesn't work when cutting, I would still have to copy and paste then delete the original.
The problem isn't that the formats are being copied, it's that the cell that has being cut from magically inherits a boarder when I paste into another cell.
