Whenever I create a new Excel file or make a new sheet, there are no gridlines. This suddenly started yesterday. I was working on some macro, but I wasn't doing anything with gridlines. And since there is no default setting for gridlines, I don't see how I could have done anything to get this result.
The gridline colour is set to automatic. I know that I can turn on gridlines under View, or Options - Advanced. But that only works for the current sheet. Whenever I make another sheet, it will be without gridlines.
I have found a workaround: Make a Book.xltx and a Sheet.xltx file with gridlines and place them in XLSTART. This works, but it has an undesired side effect: When I copy data and then create a new sheet, I can't paste anymore (the clipboard is emptied when I make a new file or sheet). I can of course first make the sheet and then copy my data, but I often forget.
Any help is much appreciated.
