Cant sort % highest to lowest?

I have a column i am trying to sort high to low but only get the option for A to Z or Z to A. Below is the data i am truing to sort by high number to low and i suspect the issue is the < symbols. Is there a way to still do this without removing the symbols?

11.68%
11.02%
78.76%
< 10%
< 10%

But the percentages are numbers are they not?

This worked for me. 2 step process.

create your own sorting custom list by Selecting Data to be sorted click on sort and then click on order.
Choose Custom list.
select NEW LIST
under the List entries window enter the data as follows

Now select Add on the right and sort your data using this list. This will bring the <10% to the bottom.

Step 2.

Highlight percents before <10% and sort largest to smallest.

if you have more specific numbers (ie <5%) then add that below the <10% in the custom list.
