putting values to certain colors for payroll

    Hello all,

I recently started working in a company that helps elderly. I need to make it simple for me to make payroll my boss and I came up with a graph on how to do it but I need help executing.

I want to make it this way:

    Nurse x Patient(s) y,v,w Insurance: C(Blue) |D (green) |E (Yellow) Hours 10, 12, 15

I want to be able to give Insurance based on color a value, for example insurance c pays a nurse 12.00/hr. Insurance D pays 11.00. Insurance E pays 11.50

Then I want it to multiply it by Hours to give me a total depending on how much the insurance pays. For example if insurance C pays 12.00/hr and they worked 10 hr = 120

The problem I have is i have over 300 clients and over 130 nurses so I can't be doing them manually.

Also I'd like to be able to say (blue) is medicaid (green) is anthem ins (yellow) is State ins

So you mean the insurance column is populated with colored cells depending on the insurance type?
That would mean using VBA to retrieve values ( or at least a UDF like COLORINDEX). Why not give each insurance a code, ("abc" or anything meaningful the retrieve what insurance pays with a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH combination?

Eventually post a small sample sheet stripped of confidential data, showing what you have and expected results? Click on " Go advanced" and follow instructions to post on the forum

Yes! For example insurance D(blue) pays 12.00/HR insurance C (green) pays 11.00/HR

The problem I have is that some of the nurses have multiple patients with different a insurance. Ei.. If she works 10 hours for a patient that has insurance D(blue) that would equal 120.00.

I just want to make it easier for me to do payroll, see who they helped, how many hours, what their rates are, and what the total is according to time and rate
