Drop Down List with "Find" function

Hi all Excel experts.

I have created a drop down list but I find it too difficulty to find the drop down list, when I have about 1000++ product code in the drop down list.
Is there anyway that I can have the "find" function, just like how we have in Excel?
With that, it would be easier to search the product code, instead of scroll up and down where the product code might have been not in sequence inside the 1000++ list.
If possible, try not to involve macro as I'm not strong using macro, but if that's the only option, I'm willing to learn.

Appreciate all the help.

if you apply a filter to your list, you can use the selection area where you can select from a list of equals, does not equal, begins with, does not begin with, ends with, does not end with, contains and does not contain. Maybe that would be an alternative.

You cannot do that with a dropdown, but there may be a few ways around this.

1 way would be to have a cell where you enter the start of what you want, and then a DD that will only list the items that start with those letter
Another way would be to use a ComboBox. See the excel help on how to create/use those
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi SamboKid,

I don't understand, can you elaborate more?
Reason why I use DD is because that DD on that particular cell will be used for graph presentation, hence using DD will tidy up the list of product code, in a way it hidden the codes, and find as of what I need to look at, which is the most troublesome.

Hi FDibbins,
The things is it's a product code, it's not a description, can it be done?

Thanks both of helping out..

Here is a link that may be of some use. You an create a searchable drop down list. Its all done with formulas, no VBA.
