    Conditional Formatting highlighting

    Hi All,

I am having a little issue with conditional formatting.

Itís a pretty simple table instead of attaching I have just put what it roughly looks like below.

I am using the Colour Scales and in the edit rule section I have changed it from Percentile to a Number.

I can get the B2 column to change to the correct colour I was just wondering if it would be possible to change the text colour to. And if so how would I go about doing this.

    A1 B2

    Number Of Files 220

    Re: Conditional Formatting highlighting

    "A1 B2

    Number Of Files 220 "

Looks like you were better off posting the file.
Post a sample file in excel format rather than an image.
Attach a sample spreadsheet with expected results, remove any sensitive data.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Hi Special-K,

I have attached an example doc,

In cell J to L are the target figures that link to the conditional formatting. In cell B3 is the results with the conditional formatting applied, I just wanted to know is it possible to get A1 to change colour to the same colour as the conditional formatting

    Re: Conditional Formatting highlighting

There are two types of conditional formatting. Those that apply to a range of cells, and those that apply to a single cell. Color scales apply to a range of cells. The highest and lowest values are shaded red or green and various shades transitioning through yellow are applied to the values in between. It doesn't matter if you are using quantity or percent.

This makes little sense when applied to a single cell. It will display the middle color. Icon symbols might be better suited for a single cell assignment or use when cell contains. You can then use conditional formatting on cell A1 using a formula based on cell B3 to make it match.
