Trying to format a range of cells, but the text is being copy and pasted as being unable to format. Previously I had solved the problem by copy and pasting a blank cell and then going through a couple steps to apply this to my whole range, I just don't remember what I did- but it worked perfectly. Can anyone help?

What exactly are you trying to format, how are you formatting it, and to what?
