Question Is it possible to use superscirpt and subscript in legends of graph

    Dear All,
After creating a graph, when we make the legends appear, is automatically generated based on the name for the particular data. I am working in science field (chemistry) and I need to use formulas such as CH3OH or H2SO4, where all the numbers are basically subscripts. However, since it is not possible to use such subscript or super-scripts in naming the Title of the data, in the legends as well I get this chemically wrong information. I typically end up using TEXT but then auto-generated line shape and colors are slightly different than on the graph. The best way is to have it automatically generated, correct formula as well.
Is there a simpler and smarter way to deal with this problem???
    Thank you all
    PS

I used insert symbol to add superscript values which appeared in the legend.

Thanks andy that seems pretty straight but how do you insert the symbol? I mean to say that how to make it go up or down? If I go to insert----> symbol there are no super or subscripts? I am sorry to bother but this is really a nice way to do so and hence want to know about it

Superscript and subscript numbers are their own characters in those fonts that support them. If your default font supports them, the sub and superscript characters will be down around Unicode 2070 to 2090 http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2070.pdf
If your default font does not show the super/sub characters, try a different font.

Here is the Insert symbol dialog. Button should be on the Insert tab of the ribbon
