Remove space which appears above the spreadsheet when copying from one sheet to another

When copying data from one sheet to another, a blank space sometimes appears above the spreadsheet with the numbers 1 to 8 in a vertical array on the top left.
How is this blank space removed?

Sounds as though the data has been grouped by column(s). Not sure why you wouldn't see it on the Source sheet but you can on the Target.

Ctrl-8 hides and unhides Grouping/Outlining. If it is Grouping/Outlining, you can use Data | Ungroup to remove it.
