    Countif in Excel Pivot Table

I am an excel newbie, but I considered myself reasonably comfortable with Pivot table till i got stuck with this issue..

I need to count values of "Yes" by gender in the table below:
    problem.png

The values field in Pivot-table does not have a COUNTIF that i could have used to count values of "Yes". So I thought of using a calculated field and inserting an if-clause there (if "Registered" is "Yes", then 1 , else 0) there, but even that is not helping.. I am getting all zeroes there..

    Can anyone help?

(Remember this is dummy data. Ideally I can just change "Yes" to 1 and "No" to 0 in the source and proceed with sums, but unfortunately. in the actual problem that I am working on, I don't have access to the source data.)

I have attached the excel sheet if you want to play around with data.

    Hi priya,

It seems like you simply to use a filter of the Yes/No column. See my example Pivot to the right of yours.

Re: Countif in Excel Pivot Table

Thanks Marvin, but this is not what I am looking for.

Actually, that's the problem with using dummy example/data to represent a real world scenario.. Sometimes the example may not be the correct representative of the actual scenario..

For my current task, I actually need this in the specific format that I included in the problem view. (i.e. I need to see how i can include counts of "Yes" in the values section of Pivot table)
