Combining numerous dates into 12 median points

I have created a combo chart that shows Days on market and Price/SF on the vertical Axis and Time (1 year) on the Horizontal Axis.

There are 89 data points on the horizontal axis, over the course of a year. I want to summarize them in the chart to a median for each month, so there will only be 12 data points. Is this possible, or to I have to manually input my median data points?

TIA

Hi, welcome to the forum

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Combining numerous dates into 12 median points

Are you sure that you want the median and not the average? The median is the centre value of a list of values which may or may not be close to the average of those values.

You mention that you have a combo chart but there isn't a chart in the workbook. What chart types are you combining? It would be helpful to see what you have done. If you upload a workbook with your combo chart, please indicate by using the drawing tools, the lines that you have in mind.
