Deleting excessive amount of unnecessary rows

    Hi,

I have a Excel file that only needs the first dozen rows for my work.
But as you can see in the file attached to this post, the work sheet goes all the way down to the row 34000s.

I have tried to "delete" the entire rows and/or "Right click/Clear All" multiple times and saved/reopened the file.
But I still get this huge amount unnecessary rows.

Normally I can ignore them because they actually don't bother that much.
But the same problem seems to be appearing in other Excel file I work with.

Could some one please show me how to get rid of these rows?
Deleting them and save/reopen doesn't work, and I don't know why.

    thnx

I found this when I first started learning to use Macro's... I set it up as an add in and use it all the time.

    Try copy a blank cell
Then choose destination cells by Ctr-shift-arrow
    Then enter to paste.

Re: Deleting excessive amount of unnecessary rows

Thank you spitfireblue and bebo021999 for your help.

I was able to solve this problem by copying one of the row (row #3) and jsut pasting the whole thing all the way down, covering the entire sheet.
After saving/reopening I deleting the whole copied section and saved again.
When I reopened the file again, the problem was fixed.

I don't know why but what ever problem I had it was not deletable.
But after over writing the whole thing with a normal row, it seems to be completely deleted now.

Again thank you both for your help

Re: Deleting excessive amount of unnecessary rows

Good to know this workaround. I have occasionally experienced issues where rows will just not delete. Obviously down to some corruption or feature but, whatever, a pain.

    Thanks Quang
