    Question copying/pasting table with formulas - #ref error

    I have a table like so, (Forumlas are shown)

    100
    watermelon =a1*0.1

    Out come of formulas used

    100
    watermelon 10

    As you can see, I have a cell (100) designated for the outcome of other cells if this number is changed. The situation I run into is this, I want to copy b1-b2 to another spot in the sheet. What then happens is I get those #ref errors. I'd like to keep the same formula, =a1*0.1,. If I do the cut option, I'm able to move the information with out having the #ref show and all is well. But I don't understand why I would have an issue with copying.
    Excelling noob... I hope

    Hi imazack,

    I'm gonna guess it is because of cell reference. It is all about the dollar signs in a formula. Read about it at:
    https://www.exceltrick.com/formulas_...te-references/

    If that isn't the problem, keep asking and even post what you think should happen.

    Re: copying/pasting table with formulas - #ref error

    I feel that Marvin is correct. The table appears to be copied to the right by five columns, so I would assume that the column references also changes by five (i.e. from A1 to F1). The remedy would be to lock the formula by column (i.e. $A1) and then copy.
    That said it may help if you upload the file from which the screenshot is taken by following the directions in the banner at the top of the page that begins "imazack97 Fast answers need clear examples..."
